Due: Wednesday, April 3, 2024

For clarity, I have broken down the tasks to be completed for the course project proposal into three tasks with different due dates.

Task 1: Form groups

  • Form groups of 3 students (not less or more).
    1. All groups members are expected to contribute and you will all be held accountable for your contributions in peer evaluations.
    2. Each member will be required to provide their contribution
  • Choose a team/group leader for your gorup.
    1. The team leader will be responsible for correspondence with me and making submissions.
    2. If the team leader ends up being unresponsive, you are free to take charge and replace the team leader, just let me know about the change.
    3. Form groups by Friday, 3/22, and the team leader should send the me the names of those in the group by email.
  • If you do not form a team by the due date, I will randomly assign you to a team . The rnorm() function is powerful.

Task 2: Select a dataset

Choose a dataset from these 10 vetted datasets . The variables fit the requirements for this project and the data require no additional data wrangling. Thanks to Albert Y. Kim for sharing the textbook resources.

  • There is enough dataset to go round; so each group can only pick one datset.
  • Dataset claim for this project will be on a first-come first serve basis.
  • If a dataset has been picked by a group it will be highlighted to show that it is no longer available. The group name will be written as well.
  • I will recommend that you pick three datasets you are interested in and order them by priority. So, if a dataset is no longer available by the time I receive your email, I can pick the next one.
  • The due date for sending the dataset is Friday, 3/22. Send by email.
  • I will reply to your email with the dataset that is available for your group.
  • Again, if any group does not choose dataset by the due date, I will choose a dataset for the group.

Task 3: What to Submit

By Wednesday, 4/3

Submit the HTML project proposal by following the R markdown format provided for the project proposal in the extra Reading. Here is an example. Replace the Team Name in the Template with your group name.

Only the group leader will make the submission on Canvas:
