Elevation Slices
Here, the State's 3389 m (11119 ft.) elevation range is divided into 152 m (500 ft.) sections creating 23 elevation classes. The elevation bands elucidate broad structural features as well as fine-scale landforms. As examples, a fault-block mountain range, vast fanning piedmont surfaces, broad sediment-filled valleys, and networks of glacially and fluvially carved valleys are all visible.
